Organization Overview:

Job Summary:
The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of concession stands and portable outlets throughout Amerant Bank Arena, encompassing pre-event preparation, event-day service execution, and post-event closing and reconciliation procedures. This role serves as a frontline operational leader and team member liaison, supporting the consistent application of service standards, departmental policies, and best practices across all concession locations. Reporting to the Concessions Manager, this is a part-time, event-based position within the Food and Beverage Department. Scheduled hours vary in accordance with the arena event calendar.

Job Functions:
Specific duties included but are not limited to:

  • Direct and oversee all concession stand and portable outlet operations, including monitoring of expeditor performance, cashier efficiency, and overall guest service delivery
  • Confirm that all stands and portables are fully prepared, stocked, and guest-ready prior to the opening of arena doors
  • Actively monitor service wait times at all stands, bars, and portables; identify bottlenecks and escalate issues to management when established service thresholds are at risk
  • Uphold cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards across all concession areas throughout the duration of each event
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of arena layout to navigate independently and assist guests effectively
  • Remain informed of all scheduled events, private activations, and special programming that may affect concession staffing or operations
  • Conduct opening inventory verification at all assigned stands and portables; document and report any discrepancies prior to event commencement
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, including preparation specifications, ingredients, portion measurements, and presentation standards
  • Monitor food and beverage quality, temperature, and presentation continuously throughout each event to ensure product integrity and guest satisfaction
  • Oversee food storage and temperature compliance in accordance with applicable food safety regulations
  • Ensure accurate completion and submission of all required event documentation at each location, including opening and closing inventory sheets, void logs, spoilage records, food temperature logs, and non-chargeable requisition forms
  • Support the Concessions Manager in the onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members to promote individual growth and overall departmental performance
  • Provide real-time coaching and constructive feedback to team members during events; document and communicate key observations to management following each shift
  • Actively supervise team member performance throughout events to ensure adherence to guest service standards and operational protocols
  • Conduct thorough end-of-event walk-throughs to confirm all inventory is properly secured and that all locations meet established sanitation and appearance standards
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership and Amerant Bank Arena senior management to support a high-performing, seamless operation
  • Provide operational support to other Food & Beverage departments as directed
  • Ensure consistent and responsible execution of alcohol service practices in compliance with Florida law and organizational policy at all locations
  • Verify that all team members adhere to applicable Health Department food safety and sanitation regulations throughout each event
  • Assist with pre-event setup activities, including stand preparation, portable deployment, stanchion configuration, and back-of-house readiness

Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • One to two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a high-volume hospitality environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate professionally with cross-functional departments and arena operations personnel
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
  • Displays a positive, team-oriented attitude and a strong commitment to operational excellence
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with peers, team members, and management
  • Sound judgment and composure under pressure, with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Valid responsible alcohol service certification (TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol) — required prior to first event
  • Food handler certification — required prior to first event
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on hard arena surfaces throughout each event
  • Frequent movement across large concourses, stairwells, and crowded event areas
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., including liquor cases, ice bags, and product crates
  • Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level is generally high, crowd traffic is heavy, ambient temperatures are variable — cold during the NHL season and potentially warm or humid during summer events — with fast-paced concourse and back-of-house areas and sustained high levels of foot traffic

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a non-exempt, event-based position with a schedule governed by the Amerant Bank Arena event calendar. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of schedule flexibility, including availability for evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts on a recurring basis; extended hours on event days, including pre-event setup and post-event breakdown; and on-call availability to address last-minute staffing requirements.
