Job Description

Location: Toronto, ON
Department: IT Infrastructure
Employment Type: 1-year full-time freelance position

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Network Administrator with 2–4 years of hands-on experience in managing and optimizing enterprise network environments. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to grow their expertise in Cisco technologies and modern networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching infrastructure.
  • Support and optimize wireless network environments for reliability and performance.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and authentication.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and security across systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on infrastructure and security initiatives.
  • Document network changes, configurations, and procedures accurately.

Required Experience and Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco Route & Switch, Wireless, and Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Familiarity with network design principles, VLANs, STP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and basic troubleshooting methodologies.

Preferred / Plus Skills

  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalling and Cisco ASA VPN administration.
  • Exposure to Cisco SD-WAN and Cisco DNA Center (DNAC).
  • Understanding of network automation concepts and scripting is an asset.
  • Relevant Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) are preferred but not required.
