The Assistant Massage Therapist provides high level massage services for Pacers’ players and coaches. This role will communicate with and assist training staff to ensure massage therapy is efficient and effective. In addition, this position will support team staff with other duties as assigned to help the team operate in an efficient and effective way on and off the road.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team massage therapist provides high level massage services for Pacers’ players and coaches.
- Maintain clean work environment
- Communicate with the lead therapist and training staff regarding player health issues to ensure efficient and effective massage therapy.
- Coordinate with Lead Massage Therapist regarding budget and supplies for massage therapy.
- Assist team staff with baggage handling during road trips
- Communicate daily with Lead Therapist regarding scheduling massage according to player seniority
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Lead Massage Therapist, Senior Director Medical Operations/Head Athletic Trainer, coaching staff and team management.
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Travel with team is a requirement of this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed Massage Therapist, minimum 3 years' experience in massage therapy of athletes.
- Ability to be licensed in the state of Indiana.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a level one FST certification from Stretch to Win.
- A cupping and IASTM course.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Manager, Clients, Customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Knowledge to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as analyzing costs, making change, and figuring statistics, and making area and liquid measurements.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret directions and technical diagrams.
PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must make independent decisions and use discretion when dealing with specific problems.
